Yahoo Strikes a Deal with ABC News

New York, October 4 ( – A strategic online news alliance was announced by Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO) the premier digital media company and ABC News Monday. More than 100 million US users will get content from the news alliance. The aim of the alliance will be to blend ABC News global newsgathering operation and its bevy of trusted anchors and reporters with the unmatched vast audience, depth and breadth of content of Yahoo! News.

Starting Monday, Yahoo will launch with three new online first video series hosted by the award-winning, trusted anchors of ABC News.

Ross Levinsohn, executive vice president of Americas at Yahoo! said “Yahoo! is committed to building the richest set of premium and personalized content experiences for our users. Our deep collaboration with ABC News further strengthens Yahoo! as the No. 1 online news source, greatly enhancing our already robust news content,” and added that “ABC News and Ben Sherwood’s vision is completely symbiotic with ours; together we can create highly engaging experiences for more than 100 million users a month that will set the standard for the industry.”

As per the agreement between Yahoo! and ABC News, the latter will become the premier news provider on Yahoo! News. Editorial teams from both organizations will collaborate on original coverage to appear on both Yahoo! News and ABC News sites.
