NEW YORK, October 7 ( – Amazon bagged a sales tax deal from the State of Tennessee, which means more full time jobs, more investments, and exemption to collect Tennessee Sales taxes until January 1, 2014.

Amazon has reached an agreement with the State of Tennessee where it will not collect Tennessee sales tax until January 1, 2014 and will add 3,500 jobs with benefits, thousands of seasonal jobs and $350 million capital investment by striking this deal. Many Business groups believe that it will give unfair advantage to Amazon for next three years.

A Virginia based Organization backed by big-box retailers; The Alliance for Main Street Fairness said that they are not willing to accept the deal between Tennessee Officials and Amazon, where company is not obligated to collect sales tax until 2014 and in return for state support for further expansions. The group will continue to press their case against Amazon’s tax treatment in Washington and Nashville.
